One Wisconsin Now

One Wisconsin Now is a 501(c)(4) organization, which engages in online organizing, hard-hitting earned media and rapid responses.
One Wisconsin Now (OWN), the media war room for Wisconsin progressives provides a critical and unique service for the progressive infrastructure: A full-time counterbalance to the conservative spin machine and its elected advocates. OWN is a central warehouse for communications, message development and research. Additionally, OWN advances the progressive agenda through both traditional and new media communications.
OWN works closely with progressive organizations to provide strategic communications support for earned media opportunities and also provides current media lists and best practices for generating media coverage.

One Wisconsin Now works on a wide range of issues important to Wisconsin. OWN encourages you to sign up for the OWN network and talk about the issues that are most important to you.
- tOWN Hall: The state's most active and diverse progressive blog, which includes over 90 progressive bloggers and permits individuals from around the state to register and blog.
- Online Organizing: OWN's website includes the latest in internet-based communications and tools, allowing members to create groups, share information, develop profiles and create letters to the editor campaigns to maximize effective message targeting.
AV Events Calendar: Centralizes a list of upcoming events including rallies, fundraisers and organizing activities between organizations and individuals

As part of OWN's dedication to working for the people of Wisconsin, OWN has begun to ask for OWN Advisors, issue-specific groups of activists and other concerned citizens that will help to guide OWN actions and the direction of the progressive debate in Wisconsin.

Other groups don't get involved in the money wars but nonetheless push a political agenda and help shape elections, in large part through the internet. The most prominent player is One Wisconsin Now, which during last year's Supreme Court race [dug] up dirt on Annette Ziegler. Ziegler was subsequently fined by the state Ethics Board and still faces a recommended reprimand from her colleagues on the Supreme Court.
