[edit] Mission

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin is the advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, the state's largest and most trusted reproductive health care provider. PPAWI educates and lobbies on behalf of reproductive rights and works to elect candidates who support family planning and a woman's right to choose.

Protecting Reproductive Justice and Women's Health Through Education, Grassroots Activism, Legislative Advocacy, and Electoral Engagement

Education and Grassroots Activism PPAWI educates and engages our grassroots network of over 170,000 supporters as well as voters across the state on issues relating to women's health and reproductive justice including:

Public education through phone banks, mailings, door-to-door canvasses, house parties, and media. Engaging volunteers in communities and campuses across the state to protect women's health. Providing reliable research, resources and tools so you can stay informed, speak out, and make a difference.

Legislative Advocacy PPAWI employs lobbyists and analysts who are in the state Capitol working to defeat restrictive anti-choice and anti-birth control legislation and helping to advance public policies that support reproductive justice and healthy women and families including:

  • Family planning services, such as birth control and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, for low-income women.
  • Compassionate care for rape victims, including access to emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy after an assault.
  • Access to birth control, women’s health care and responsible sex education.
Electoral Engagement PPAWI works to elect candidates who are committed to ensuring the people of Wisconsin continue to have reproductive freedom. If we can't change the minds of elected officials in the Capitol, we work to change their faces by:
  • Endorsing pro-choice candidates.
  • Making Political Action Committee (PAC) donations to endorsed candidates.
  • Extensive voter education programs including phone banks, canvasses and community outreach.
  • Engaging in comprehensive mail, phone, radio, television, and on-line activities supporting or opposing candidates.
